Classroom Rules and Expectations

1. Treat others and their belongings respectfully at all times.
2. You alone are responsible for your actions and/or decisions.
3. Be on time and prepared. Arriving when the bell rings will be considered LATE.
4. Listen the first time instructions are given. Ask questions if you do not understand.
5. You may only enter and exit the room with a signed pass from a teacher or administrator.
6. Follow all rules as they are listed in the student handbook.

Extra Help

If at any time you need assistance with an assignment, reading or homework, please come to see me and we can schedule a time that works for both of us. It is IMPORTANT for you to come to see me when you start to fall behind or get confused. If you wait too long, you will make it very difficult for yourself to catch up.
I am available before and after school every day.

Rules for Written Assignments

When you are assigned any composition of significant length (out-of-class essays, papers, etc.), you must adhere to MLA format unless otherwise stated. That includes:
  • Size 12 Times New Roman font
  • One-inch margins on top, bottom, left, and right sides of pages
  • A header on the left side of your first page that reads: Your name/My name/Course/Due date (day month year)
  • Numbered pages .5-inches from the top right side of the paper (it reads—your last name in conjunction with the consecutive page number, ie: Reed 3)
  • A creative title centered below the header (no bold, underline, or itlalics unless referencing a published work)
  • Double-spaced throughout entire paper
  • .5-inch indentations at the beginning of each paragraph
  • No extra spacing between paragraphs/heading/title
